About the event

Up Here 9 kick’s off the RBC Northern Series with Bad Actors, a Sudbury band honouring traditional Appalachian, Americana, and bluegrass folk music. The RBC Northern Series presents some of the best acts from Northern Ontario in intimate settings between 5 and 7 p.m.

BAD ACTORS As former members of Murder Murder, Barry Miles and Jonathan Danyliw have left behind their life of crime but not their deep knowledge of the annals of Appalachian, Americana, and bluegrass traditions. This is folk music in the truest sense of the term, music that borrows from a centuries-long catalogue of resources in an effort to both honour the genre's history and examine the unique experiences of contemporary life. Sometimes the best way to process the present is to filter it through an old lens.

PASSPORTS Passport holders get priority access to all concerts, can hop freely from venue to venue, and can skip the lines at the pop-up bar on the main festival site. Passports are now available in limited quantities at uphere.com.

FREE! Thanks RBC!

UP HERE 9 Up Here is an urban art & emerging music festival designed for curious minds in weird and wonderful downtown Sudbury that takes place from August 18-20, 2023.
